Training
The Carpenters Training Committee for Northern California (CTCNC) is the educational organization that provides Apprenticeship, Journey level, and related training services for Union Carpenters and Union Contractors across the 46 Northern California Counties.
CTCNC's mission is to provide Apprenticeship training and Journeylevel re-training to the following UBC crafts: Carpenters, Millwrights, Pile Drivers, Scaffold Erectors, Acoustical Installers, Insulators, Floorlayers, and Shinglers
The Drywall/Lathing Apprenticeship program provides the best training available to become a journeylevel drywall/lather and possible leader in the construction industry.
By choosing a Carpentry or Drywall Apprenticeship Program you can begin working and earning now. Throughout the four year program your wages will grow with scheduled increases that reward your expanding skill and knowledge. In addition to your paid "on-the-job" training, you will receive medical insurance, pension credits, vacation pay, an annuity contribution, and tuition free classes. Few jobs offer women and men the training and career opportunities that you find in today's construction industry.
Pre-Apprenticeship
The Regional Council and the CTCNC partner with schools and community based organizations to create pre-apprenticeship programs that prepare applicants for a demanding career in the construction industry. Click Here to view a video featuring out Winter 2005 Pre-Apprentice class.
Apprenticeship
Apprenticeship is the traditional model for learning a trade: by working alongside skilled workers, the craft will be ‘handed down’ to a new generation. We have combined tradition with state-of-the-art training at our training centers. Through this combination of school and on-the-job training, you will become on of the most skilled workers in the construction industry. If you have a high school diploma or equivalent, we offer a four year program as challenging as college, but with immediate rewards.
Journey-level Upgrade Programs
We earn a high wage and great benefits because we are the most knowledgeable and highly skilled craftspeople in the country.
