If $3,000 would be helpful for your son or daughter's college expenses next year, read on!
The Northern California Carpenters/Thomas A. Morton Memorial Scholarship Foundation is offering 80 scholarships of $3,000 each to the children of Local members in the 46 Northern California Counties.
Eligible persons may receive one scholarship award every other year, with a maximum of two awards being given to any individual dependent of members in good standing.
The selection is by lottery, so grade point averages are not a factor. APPLICANTS MUST BE PLANNING TO ATTEND THE 2012-2013 (July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013) COLLEGE YEAR, OR CURRENTLY BE ENROLLED IN AN ACCREDITED EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION.
Additionally, the applicant must currently be a dependent as described in the Application Guidelines (spouses are not eligible).
CONTACT YOUR LOCAL UNION FOR THE ACTUAL APPLICATION!
The Executive Officers of the Carpenters 46 Northern California Counties Conference Board founded the Scholarship Foundation in 1991, with the idea that charity begins at home and the benefits of union membership should include our children. Contributions from golf tournaments and the like have been accruing every year, and this year we are granting awards to 80 lucky applicants.
If your son or daughter is not a recipient this year, be sure they apply next year if they are still in school. With good fortune and wise investments, the number of awards will continue to grow.
Dependents of full-time Union Officials and employees of the Union are not eligible for scholarship consideration.
APPLICATIONS ARE NOW AVAILABLE AT THE LOCAL AND MUST BE COMPLETED AND RETURNED TO THE LOCAL, POSTMARKED NO LATER THAN THURSDAY, JUNE 29, 2012.
