Tell Congress to protect our pensions!If you want to take action to strengthen our Pension Fund, here’s an easy way to do so. Contact your Congressional Representative, and tell him or her to support H.R. 3936, “The Preserve Benefits and Jobs Act of 2009!” Formerly known as the “Pomeroy Bill” (for those of you who attended one of the early pension area meetings), this bill will allow time for our Pension Fund to recover from the economic meltdown of 2008–09. If you don’t know how to contact your Representative, go online to http://www.house.gov. In the upper left corner of this website you can enter your zip code, which will then take you to your Representative’s website. If you don’t have a computer, call your Local, and ask them to look it up for you. Then call or write a short note, and tell your Representative to help protect your pension!
