Ballots will be mailed to all eligible voters for a decision on reallocation of future wages increase to the pension contribution.
Ballots will be mailed to all eligible voters (active members who participate in the Carpenters Pension Plan for Northern California) for a decision on reallocation of future wages increase to the pension contribution. The Delegates met in Sacramento in early January and decided to hold a membership vote on the issue after watching a presentation by Bob Alvarado and Fund Administrator Gene Price. Full details of the proposal will be mailed with the ballots, and will be published in the February issue of this paper. The information is also presented as part of the pension area meetings currently being held throughout Northern California. The ballots will not be mailed until after all of the pension area meetings are completed, so everyone has a chance to attend a meeting and hear the full pension presentation. In addition, every Local Union will have a regular membership meeting before the deadline, so members have the chance to attend a meeting and discuss the issue with their 46 County and Regional Council Delegates before casting their ballot. If you want to make an informed decision, attend one of the upcoming area meetings, and attend your next union meeting! |
