Pre-Apprenticeship launched and landedOur training program has recently taken another historic—and successful—journey. On May 14, we graduated 72 students from our first series of nine-week, pre-apprenticeship classes held at the four training centers. The classes served the purpose for which they were intended. The bootcamp-style training put the students through their paces—both mentally and physically—and weeded out the handful who, for a variety of reasons, couldn’t meet the challenge. All 72 have now been indentured and are ready to start their regular apprentice classes. If one of these folks shows up on your job site, please help them get off to a good start. They’ve had a good introductory exposure to the field, and deserve some confidence-building experiences since they’ve already earned some stripes.
