The Above and Beyond Award is presented by Employer’s in Support of Guard and Reserves’ (ESGR) State Committees to recognize employers at the local level who have gone above and beyond the legal requirements of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) by providing their Guard and Reserve employees additional, non-mandated benefits such as differential or full pay to offset lost wages, extended health benefits, and other similar benefits.
Upon return from the UBC Western District Conference in April, Hector Lopez went to the Helmets to Hardhats website and upon investigation found that several of the Carpenter Apprenticeship Programs for Northern California were not listed on the web page. Although we have referenced this web page many times, no one was aware that the programs were not currently listed. Mr. Lopez persisted in finding out who the programming administrator was and was diligent in getting all of the CTCNC programs listed on the Helmets to Hardhats web page.
Since the postings have gone up we have indentured numerous Veterans who went to the web page, about 25, and have been able to place many with contractors.
ESGR is proud to recognize Hector Lopez with the Above and Beyond Award for his efforts in assisting our Veterans in finding good jobs and lie-long careers. Congratulations Hector Lopez.
